Re-born in honour of a true Legend! |

Oglach Kevin O'Brien
2007 witnessed the re-birth of An Claddagh CSC, Bogside, Derry as they decided to honour one of their favourite sons, Kevin "OB" O'Brien by renaming their Celtic Supporters Club in his memory.
Kevin was instrumental and indeed one of the founder members when setting up the original An Claddagh CSC which forged strong links with Barrhead St Marys CSC over the years as both clubs strived to support various charitable campaigns. This work was predominantly down to holding Annual Football matches as well as charity fundraisers afterwards within their respective local areas.
To date, the efforts of both supporters clubs have resulted in over 㿀,000 being raised for various charities & deserving individuals such as "Make a Wish Foundation", "The Paul Doyle Appeal" and "The Conan Kelly Memorial Fund".
It is hoped that over the years to come, the bond between both supporters clubs & the friendships within them will continue to prosper, allowing for other charitable causes & worthy children to benefit from their efforts.
It is only fitting that a new supporters club, named in the memory of a great campaigner for worthy causes, continues to do it's utmost to work in the manner he set out to achieve & maintain.
Long live the memory of our friend, comrade & brother;
KEVIN "OB" O'BRIEN

Tribute 1:
Kevin O’Brien.
On a cold Octobers day, when Kevin passed away,
All the birds they flew away
From Greenwalk.
A man with a heart of gold
“come to Heaven” by God was told
Let them remember and behold
Let your stories and life be told.
Kevin spoke his mind, in a manner both respectful and kind.
He spoke sense about his life,
Which was his children and his wife.
O’B was a loving father,
A great husband to his wife,
He was also a son of Ireland
To which he dedicated his life.
Kevin had a big heart, he showed it every day
If ever someone needed help, he’d help in any way.
Kevin had another love, and Celtic was her name,
Come rain or hail, or sleet or snow
O’B never missed a game.
He’d often travel over and maybe stay a wile
For when Kevin watched the Celtic you shoulda’ seen him smile
Dedicated to the memory of Kevin O’Brien.
May he rest in peace and sleep with the angels in Heaven.

Tribute 2
R.I.P "OB"
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why...
Gone but not forgotten,
Although we are apart,
Your spirit lives within us,
You are forever in our hearts.
