Barrhead St Marys CSC - Est 1993

Hail Hail to the Bhanner Bhoys...........16 years on!!!

Barrhead St Marys CSC - The Founding Brothers

In 1993, the town of Barrhead witnessed the birth of a new & relatively small Celtic supporters club which unbeknown to each of it's founder members at the time, would grow from strength to strength over the years and become famous all over the globe as "The Bus wi the Big Banner!".

This new club was to be named after a the local St Marys Convent in Barrhead which was run by Nuns from the Parish, therefore it was almost inevitable that the club would be baptised - Barrhead St Marys CSC.

The success of this new supporters club would grow from the friendship, bond & commitment amongst each of the founding fathers & this would be a key criteria to be met for any new member looking to officially join the Celtic family at Barrhead St Marys.

The club now boasts a far higher member role than that which set up the organisation in 1993, however, this merely serves as testament to the success of the original club as well as the demand out there to be associated with the famous Barrhead St Marys CSC.

In honour of the original founding members of Barrhead St Marys CSC, we have decided to name the new Popes XI below:

Billy McShane (Club President)

Jim Kierney   Tony Kierney  Joe "The Pope" Hannigan   Paddy Kelly

Andy Kelly   Paul Gillan   Peter Harkins   George Brown

Tam McCue   Jamie McFall
